It’s more about trusting the company or brand handling your story. Social media is a lot more than just posting pictures. People go there for the first impression. Trust has been the biggest thing I think we’ve been able to establish that helped us in the long run.”

Colton runs a wildly successful marketing agency, Jumper Media, that has been gaining an average of 3-5 new clients EVERY DAY for the last two years. He’s taken his agency to $6 million in annual recurring revenue. In this episode, Colton talks about how he grew his business and his team, and the value of giving things away for free, in order to gain long-lasting business and trust from your clients.

 

This whole business started from doing it for free. Not looking at what I’m going to get out of it, but more so what could this potentially open up for me that I’m going to benefit from down the road…every creative in the world will get mad at you if you give anything away for free because they feel it affects the consumers perception of value. But at the end of the day, I’m not going to hire someone if I really don’t trust them and what they do.

 

Colton began his marketing agency by helping golfers grow their following on Instagram. Colton chose golf because of his experience in the field. This ended up being a genius move, because of the multitudes of business owners who enjoy golfing in their leisure time. This was the greatest source of lead-gen for Colton’s business early on. Colton used his expertise, applied it to his business, and gained unbelievable business traction in such a short period of time.
